Blog #3
Today I was able to show off my research and use of technology to Dr. Shinitzky and Todd Reinbolt. I was able to open them up to the app Notability and show them the resources that Proctor has provided me with to succeed. As I mentioned in my last post I have been gathering information to post on Dr. Shinitzky’s business Facebook page. This information will be posted over a period of time and help athletes who maybe struggle in the areas outlined with each video. The videos also provide the person watching real-life experience and explains the power of mental conditioning. Each post is up there forever, allowing the athlete to access them at any point in time. These resources are there to allow the athlete to access to knowledge and other informational platforms that may push them to grow themselves in this part of the training process.
With that being said I will have the opportunity to collaborate with Todd Reinbolt, he works for the Dupont Registry. Todd helped revolutionize the DuPont Registry, He helped to establish the online presence DuPont has in the automotive industry. This is a unique opportunity for collaboration and I’m very excited about the opportunity to swap ideas and make this facebook page a walking textbook for athletes. The website we are setting up in a test drive or guinea pig experience, the data and information we are incorporating into this are expected to reachathlete worldwide. With a larger demographic of people, we want to make sure that all the information is current and can cover a wide variety of topics that athletes Amy struggle with.
I was also offered a rare opportunity to see inside the DuPont Registry and look at the sports cars, Jeeps, classics, and the crown jewel, an actual DuPont car all on display. What an amazing place! The sports cars were unbelievable and I could see myself driving one, one day. It was an experience that I will never forget, I will try to attach some images at the end of my blog. However, it was amazing to see all the cars and learn something new about them, how they work and what took place to develop them.
Tonight, I will be working with Dr. Shinitzky and listening in on my second clinical consultation. This particular young man is very promising in his particular sport. He posses all the talent, athleticism, and raw abilities you need to thrive however, he has been struggling with some out of sports issues. This individual wanted to strength his mental focus and get the talent hyper-focusing. Now wither-focusing, we put him in a situation where he was in competition with myself. The ideas besides this were to have him focus on what he was doing rather than what I was up to. This notation allowed him to focus on his progress and competing with himself rather than the success that I was having. We also worked on his short term working memory, the idea was that he could master laser focus if he practiced these steps. We used words and numbers with her repeated back after hearing the list. The last part of it was going over a three-step plan: 1.) What is the plan? 2.) what actually happened? 3.) What did you learn from it? It's important to go over this checklist because with both a win or lose there are lessons that come with both.
